The ancient Village of Capalbio

"Are Capalbio happy,
defended from the lion, the siena area from which they are protected,
and from these early walls restored at his own expense
and from the other walls that surround the first,
running years millequattrocentoquattro
beyond which the world had turned ten years, and several times two."

(Gabriele D'annunzio, the translation of the plaque of the Porta Senese)
